A financial services company is seeking an Index Manager responsible for maintaining and calculating S&P Dow Jones indices. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of experience in equity analysis, possessing strong analytical skills and proficiency in tools like Excel and programming languages such as SQL and Python. This is a remote position based in Mexico.

About the Role

The Index Manager (Grade Level 09) will be part of the Index Management & Production Group, responsible for maintenance and calculation of S&P Dow Jones Indices globally.

Responsibilities
  • Calculate S&P and Dow Jones branded indices, delivering real-time and end-of-day data to clients.
  • Apply corporate actions of constituents accurately in the proprietary system and validate special treatment for index-specific items.
  • Perform analytical research on companies to determine index composition and adjust data according to methodology.
  • Execute index rebalances, run models, manage research for adds/drops and communicate changes to clients.
  • Present non-routine analysis to the index committee supporting the indices managed.
  • Manage key relationships with Product Management, Client Coverage, Index Services, IT Support, and other departments.
  • Coordinate with technology and production support groups to improve system capabilities and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Lead multiple projects, managing requirements gathering, data compilation, and documentation.
  • Update index methodology as needed, ensuring indices remain relevant and investible.
  • Work with clients, R&D, and index development teams to launch new indices.
What We’re Looking For
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • At least 1+ year of experience in equity analysis, research, or data analysis.
  • Understanding of global financial markets.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects with minimal direction.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and related applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CFA or advanced degree in business, math, economics, or finance.
  • Professional experience in index management or related role.
  • Knowledge of vendor terminals, analytical platforms, and programming languages such as VBA, SQL, or Python.
