A global company in Xico, Mexico, is seeking an experienced Import Planner to coordinate international import operations. The role involves managing logistics, customs documentation, and transport planning. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in import operations or international trade. This position offers a flexible work scheme and opportunities for growth.
About this Position We are looking for an Import Planner to join our Supply Chain team.
This position is responsible for coordinating and managing the administrative side of international import operations, ensuring the timely arrival and delivery of raw materials and finished goods for direct commercialization. The ideal candidate has experience in international trade, import processes, and customs procedures, with strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate with suppliers, customs agents, and logistics teams.
What you´ll do Coordinates and supports the transport planning process to ensure delivery of goods on-time. Coordinates with transport planner closely and ensures availability of carriers.
Coordinates with warehouses and Customer Service Control Tower Plans deliveries not managed, i.e. rush orders.
Solves issues communicated from transport planner during the planning process.
Provides new / changed master data to transport planner.
Reviews and proposes improvements on transport planning scope, i.e. exclusion of lanes.
Manages transport complaints.
Provides reconciliation of deviations in carrier invoicing with Purchasing / Finance.
Prepares transport KPIs and reports.
What makes you a good fit Bachelor's degree in International Business, Commerce, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
Experience : Minimum 2+ years in import operations, logistics, or international trade. Languages : Intermediate English (advanced preferred) — able to communicate with international suppliers. Systems : Experience with SAP is desirable (not required).
Knowledge : - International trade and import procedures.
