Marsh seeks a hands-on data engineering leader to guide a squad of engineers in delivering priority data initiatives. You will design architectures, write code, review PRs, and partner with business stakeholders to ensure outcomes align with business needs.

You will lead with a focus on data quality, maintainability, and scalable pipelines, using SQL, Python, and Spark on Databricks across AWS/Azure. Hybrid work arrangement is available.

Qualificações

• 5+ years hands-on data engineering experience with some time leading or mentoring engineers.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark, used recently and regularly.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Databricks strongly preferred; Snowflake/Synapse or similar accepted) on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a mixed team of employees and contractors.
• Fluency with modern engineering practices: Git, CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code, DataOps.
• Ability to translate business problems into data solutions and explain tradeoffs to both technical and business stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Lead a delivery squad of 4-8 data engineers (employees and contractors) and set technical direction, decompose work, manage sprint execution, and own delivery outcomes.
• Build with hands-on coding: write pipelines, debug production issues, and use SQL, Python, and Spark as primary tools.
• Design data models, medallion architectures, ingestion contracts, and reusable patterns with attention to schema evolution and data quality.
• Engage with Engagement Leads and business stakeholders to understand needs, define what done looks like, and translate requirements into data solutions.
• Drive engineering standards including CI/CD, version control, testing, documentation, and robust operational practices.
• Operate on a modern Databricks stack (Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Spark) on AWS/Azure, and leverage IaC, Git workflows, and orchestration tools.
