Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a mechanical product engineer to contribute to HVAC equipment design from concept through release. You will support prototypes, engineering changes, and documentation, ensuring designs meet HVAC performance and manufacturability goals.

The role requires a BE/B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and 4+ years in HVAC design, with hands-on CAD experience (AutoCAD, Creo, Windchill). You will collaborate across functions to deliver robust product solutions.

Qualifications

• BE, B.Tech, or M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4+ years of mechanical design and development experience for HVAC products.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Creo, and Windchill.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC&R design, ASHRAE standards, and thermodynamics.
• Experience with BOM creation, engineering changes, and drawing release.
• Knowledge of sheet metal part and assembly modelling.
• Familiarity with DFMEA and GD&T.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and support HVAC product solutions, including assemblies.
• Prepare drawings, BOMs, and engineering change docs.
• Review design requirements for AHUs, VAVs, FCUs, and related components.
• Develop 3D models with CAD and optimize for manufacturability.
• Coordinate with design, production, and stakeholders to release designs.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and design validation.
• Contribute to problem solving and continuous sustenance activities.
• Provide support on sheet metal parts and drawings.
