Cummins Inc. is seeking an HSE Coordinator for its on-site team in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.

The role focuses on coordinating Health, Safety and Environmental programs, ensuring compliance with NOM-STPS and environmental regulations, and driving a prevention-focused safety culture across automotive manufacturing operations. You will lead risk assessments, audits, and investigations, manage high-risk permits, and contribute to ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 initiatives while delivering training

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • 5+ years of HSE experience in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001/45001/50001 management systems.
  • Advanced English proficiency.

Responsabilidades

  • Coordinate implementation of HSE programs and ensure compliance with laws and policies.
  • Lead risk assessments and hazard analyses across operations.
  • Conduct safety audits and investigate incidents to determine root causes.
  • Monitor safety performance indicators and report findings to leaders.
  • Manage high-risk work permits and site safety programs (LOTO, confined space, etc.).
  • Support internal and external audits and drive corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver HSE training and awareness campaigns.
  • Maintain documentation and updates to ISO-based management systems.
  • Provide guidance to supervisors and employees on HSE practices.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement.

We are looking for a HSE Coordinator to join our team, specializing in Health, Safety, and Environment for our Fuel Systems Business located in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Work Modality: 100% on site

Location: Blvd. Juan Pablo II 1951, Cdad. Río Bravo, C. Río Bravo, 32550 Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico

Job Summary

Coordinate, implement, and monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, corporate policies, and international standards. This role promotes a prevention-focused culture, minimized operational risks, and supports safe and sustainable conditions across automotive manufacturing operations.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Coordinate the implementation of industrial safety and risk prevention programs.
  • Ensure compliance with Mexican Official Standards (NOM-STPS) and applicable environmental regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and plant safety audits.
  • Lead incident, accident, and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Monitor and report safety performance indicators.
  • Coordinate safety observation and behavior-based safety programs.
  • Ensure compliance with high-risk work permits, including confined space entry, working at heights, lockout/tagout (LOTO), welding, and related activities.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental requirements, permits, and applicable licenses.
  • Maintain and continuously improve management systems based on ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001.
  • Support internal, external, and certification audits.
  • Manage corrective and preventive actions resulting from audits.
  • Ensure HSE procedures, work instructions, and documentation are updated and maintained.
  • Develop and deliver health, safety, and environmental training programs.
  • Promote awareness campaigns and a strong safety culture.
  • Provide HSE guidance and support to leaders, supervisors, and employees.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to safety and sustainability.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • More than 5 years of experience in HSE roles within manufacturing companies.
  • Experience leading incident investigations and audits, utilizing problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Whys, Ishikawa (Fishbone Diagram), and other root cause analysis tools.
  • Strong experience in risk assessment and hazard analysis.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 management systems.
  • Knowledge of STPS regulations and occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Advanced conversational English.
