Reality Games in Kraków is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead our global engineering organization and shape the technical direction of our location-based gaming platform. You will oversee multiple teams, drive architectural excellence, and ensure scalable, high-quality experiences for millions of players.

This strategic leadership role combines hands-on technical depth with people leadership, working closely with product, design, and analytics to deliver world-class gaming experiences on-site

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years in technical leadership roles (tech lead, engineering manager, or director).
• Experience building and scaling engineering teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
• Track record of shipping large-scale systems to production.
• Hands-on experience with modern software development stacks.
• Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical vision to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering strategy across multiple teams (backend, frontend, data, DevOps/infrastructure).
• Drive architectural decisions for scalable, high-performance systems handling millions of players.
• Oversee platform development spanning Scala backend services, Unity game clients, Kubernetes infrastructure, and big data pipelines.
• Build and mentor engineering leaders, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Establish engineering best practices, standards, and workflows across all teams.
• Collaborate with product and design to translate game vision into robust technical solutions.
