A leading aerospace and defense company in Mexicali is seeking a customs compliance manager to oversee IMMEX program compliance and manage a team of customs professionals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Mexican customs law, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing import/export activities. This role offers a dynamic work environment focused on innovation and challenges in the aerospace industry.

Formación

  • Typically requires a university degree and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • 10 years of experience in maquiladora, customs law, and IMMEX decree.
  • Proven experience in annex 24 reconciliation.

Responsabilidades

What You Will Do
  • Manage and maintain IMMEX program compliance, including control of temporary and definitive imports / exports, annex 24 and annex 31, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive internal import and export controls to ensure compliance with all applicable customs and international trade regulations for the company’s operations.
  • Oversee import / export activities, maintain compliance with IMMEX, PROSEC, and VAT Certification programs.
  • Prepare and lead customs audits and ensure all trade documentation is accurate and retrievable.
  • Update and maintain validity of MX / US certifications (CIVA, OEA, C‑TPAT).
  • Maintain applicable Mexican trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain Mexican trade compliance procedures, training, and internal controls.
  • Support investigating and resolving Mexican compliance problems, questions or complaints.
  • Serve as the company’s IMMEX subject matter expert, maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in customs and international trade laws in Mexico, the U.S., and globally.
  • Attend all internal / external audits that apply.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of customs professionals to ensure high levels of performance, engagement, and continuous learning.
  • Perform work assignment in a safe, efficient, and ethical manner.
  • Develop other activities assigned by management to support business operations.
  • Partner with the Global Trade team in the US.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a university degree and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Proficient conversational and written English required, must be able to efficiently communicate both in person and in reports / via email.
  • 10 years of experience (or equivalent) in maquiladora, customs law, and IMMEX decree.
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican customs law, IMMEX program, annex 24 and 31, and USMCA.
  • Proven experience in annex 24 reconciliation.
  • Experience with U.S. duty mitigation programs, including the U.S. – Mexico – Canada Trade Agreement (USMCA).
  • Leadership skills and experience managing the import / export team.
