As Global Quality Director, you will lead the transformation of Ruhrpumpen's quality performance worldwide. This role is focused on identifying and eliminating systemic quality issues, driving disciplined root-cause problem solving, and creating a culture where quality decisions are based on data, accountability, and continuous improvement.
You will partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Service, and Sales teams to improve product reliability, reduce repeat failures, strengthen supplier and manufacturing quality, and establish consistent quality standards across all global operations.
1. Lead Global Quality Performance
Develop and execute Ruhrpumpen's global quality strategy and improvement roadmap. Establish common quality KPIs and reporting standards across all manufacturing locations, creating visibility into quality performance by plant, product line, supplier, customer, and failure mode. Drive measurable improvements in Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), warranty costs, customer complaints, NCRs, scrap, rework, and repeat failures.
2. Build a Data-Driven Quality Organization
Transform quality data into actionable insights through the use of dashboards, analytics, and statistical tools. Identify recurring trends and the most critical quality issues impacting the business, while integrating manufacturing, supplier, testing, warranty, and field-quality data to improve decision-making and prioritize improvement efforts.
3. Own Root Cause Analysis
Lead and strengthen the organization's approach to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) by implementing consistent methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, FMEA, DMAIC, and Fault Tree Analysis. Ensure significant quality issues are investigated to their true root cause and corrective actions are effective, sustainable, and focused on preventing recurrence.
4. Deploy Lessons Learned Globally
Establish a formal process to capture and share lessons learned across all Ruhrpumpen facilities. Ensure that corrective actions, best practices, and risk mitigation measures are systematically incorporated into procedures, engineering standards, supplier requirements, training programs, and quality planning activities worldwide.
5. Strengthen Manufacturing and Supplier Quality
Work closely with Operations and Supply Chain teams to improve process capability, manufacturing discipline, and supplier performance. Enhance quality controls across critical processes including casting, machining, welding, assembly, coatings, balancing, and testing, while reducing reliance on final inspection through prevention-focused quality practices.
6. Strengthen the Global Quality System
Promote consistent application of Ruhrpumpen quality standards and compliance with applicable requirements such as ISO 9001, API Q1, and API 610. Drive continuous improvement of quality processes, ensuring they remain effective, practical, and aligned with business objectives while fostering accountability throughout the organization.
