Responsibilities

The Opportunity

The Category Owner is responsible for ensuring the sourcing plan development and driving the digital evolution within the MRO category in Mexico. This role will be focused on negotiating services related to productive and automation equipment, as well as maintenance policies.

The Category Owner will be supported by the LATAM COE Strategy team to act as a change agent and help transform the category into a regional strategic function. This includes identifying white space opportunities and establishing processes and policies that enhance the delivery of business objectives.

The role will be responsible for executing projects aimed at achieving regional productivity and sustainability targets.

Your Impact

  • Accountable for delivering Mexico’s AOP in alignment with procurement category responsibilities.
  • Responsible for spend mapping, local stakeholder management, and local vendor management. Capable of enabling a competitive vendor list to drive PepsiCo’s productivity through efficiency, technology, and Inno-solutions in the short to mid-term.
  • Accountable for developing a local 12-month strategy in accordance with Latam COE´s 3-yrs plan. Responsible for implementing the sourcing strategy for the sector and contributing to the development of the sourcing strategy (applying the 8-step methodology).
  • Accountable for understanding key cost drivers within local industries, staying informed and consulted about trends and best practices, and aiding in the development of long-term pricing mechanisms and potential joint-business assessment.
  • Accountable and Responsible to create a sustainably inflation mitigation mechanism to ensure Net Zero Opex Inflation.
  • Support the Procurement Indirects Transformation.
  • Lead strengthening governance process (improving visibility on sourcing projects, prioritization, clarity on roles and responsibilities, budgeting, and benefits tracking).
Qualifications

Who Are We Looking For?

  • Functional knowledge: +3 years in category management / sourcing processes on procurement roles.
  • Desirable experience in Procurement Indirects or MRO category, preferably within the Food & Beverage industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Industrial Engineering, Economics or Admin.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills; solid understanding of general business economics, key cost, and quality drivers.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships in cross-functional teams and influence across a matrix organization.
  • Ability to translate complex situations into simple messages for executive-level communication.
  • Advanced language skills: Spanish and English are essential, both verbal and written.
  • Results and action-oriented: Comfortable with change, setting and achieving stretch targets.
