Job summary

Caterpillar Torreón Planta 2 is seeking a Global Aftertreatment Lead Quality Engineer to own the quality governance framework across Aftertreatment facilities and key suppliers. You will define standards, KPIs, and escalation paths, ensuring audit readiness and prevention over containment.

You will partner with facility quality managers, Supplier Quality, Design Engineering, and enterprise quality functions to drive global governance, audits, and continuous improvement, including PPAP updates

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related technical field; equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing quality, quality systems, or quality engineering in a regulated or high‑complexity product environment.
• Strong working knowledge of quality management systems and methodologies.
• Experience leading internal audits and supporting customer or third‑party audits, including closure of findings, preferably across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Own the global Aftertreatment quality governance framework, standardized KPI scorecards, escalation paths, and tracking of open actions through closure.
• Ensure network‑wide compliance with CQMS, ISO 9001, and customer‑specific requirements; own the global audit program and coordinate preparation, execution, and closure of internal, corporate, and customer audits across all facilities.
• Define and maintain global standards and templates for core quality documentation and controls and verify consistent deployment at each site.
• Own the global quality event management process ensuring a common communication flow across sites and timely containment and closure.
• Govern the global change management process for products and processes, including changes transferred between sites, ensuring they are risk‑assessed, validated, and approved before release to production.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to quality engineers across the network; consolidate and report global quality status, risks, and help needed to the Global Quality Manager and Aftertreatment leadership.
