About the Role

Our client, a major player in the export agriculture sector, is seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Gerente de Operaciones Agrícolas to oversee their extensive farming operations in the productive region of Zapopan, Jalisco . This senior leadership role demands a comprehensive understanding of large-scale agricultural production, logistics, quality control, and international market requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic planning and day-to-day management of all cultivation, harvesting, and post-harvest activities for high-value export crops. This position requires strong leadership capabilities, a data-driven approach to decision-making, and a proven track record in optimizing efficiency and profitability. You will lead a diverse team of farm managers, agronomists, and field staff, ensuring adherence to stringent quality standards and sustainable farming practices. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans for crop production, optimizing yield, quality, and cost-effectiveness for export markets.
• Oversee all aspects of farming operations, including land preparation, planting, irrigation, pest and disease management, and harvesting.
• Manage the supply chain from farm to port, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of produce that meets international quality and safety standards.
• Implement and enforce Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and other relevant certifications for export.
• Lead, motivate, and manage a team of agricultural professionals and field workers, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Develop and manage annual operating budgets, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
• Monitor market trends and customer requirements to adapt production strategies accordingly.
• Implement robust quality control systems throughout the production and post-harvest processes.
• Ensure compliance with all labor laws, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
• Identify and implement opportunities for technological innovation and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Business Administration with an agricultural focus, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in managing large-scale agricultural operations, with a significant portion focused on export crops.
• Demonstrated success in achieving production targets and managing budgets in a demanding agricultural environment.
• In-depth knowledge of international agricultural standards, certifications (e.g., GlobalG.A.P., HACCP), and export logistics.
• Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent strategic planning and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in agricultural management software and data analysis.
• Experience with a variety of high-value export crops is essential.
• Fluency in English is required for international communication.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing market conditions.
