The Fi Company in Tijuana, Baja California, is seeking a Quality Manager responsible for developing and managing quality control systems for advanced composite materials.

This role includes overseeing quality planning within New Product Introduction processes, leading a team of quality engineers, and ensuring compliance with ISO standards. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and over 5 years of experience in quality management.

Formación

  • 5+ years of experience in quality management within metal mechanical or manufacturing industries.
  • Experience in metal fabrication, welding, machining, CNC processes & industrial manufacturing.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
  • Lead Auditor ISO 9001 certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO quality standards, PFMEA / Control Plans, Quality Tools, SPC, GD&T.

Responsabilidades

  • Participate in cross-functional NPI meetings and define quality objectives.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure product conformity.

Descripción del empleo

The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing quality control systems that ensure the consistent production of advanced composite materials and related applications in compliance with established standards, customer specifications, and production objectives.

This role ensures that new products are manufacturable, compliant, reliable, and capable of meeting customer requirements prior to mass production launch. The Quality Manager leads quality planning and validation activities throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, supporting process capability, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

In addition, the position supervises and develops a team of quality engineers and inspectors, promoting a culture of quality excellence, accountability, and operational efficiency across the organization.

Quality Management System
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the plant Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure compliance with standards such as:
  • International Organization for Standardization 9001
  • International Organization for Standardization 13485
  • Maintain quality documentation, procedures, work instructions, and records.
New Product Introduction
  • Participate in cross-functional NPI meetings.
  • Review customer specifications, drawings, tolerances, and quality requirements.
  • Identify quality risks during product and process feasibility analysis.
  • Define quality objectives and acceptance criteria.
  • Support APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities / PPAP Production Part Approval Process.
Production Quality Control
  • Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure product conformity.
  • Establish inspection and testing procedures for: Raw materials, In-process production and Final products.
  • Analyze defects and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Supplier Quality
  • Evaluate and monitor supplier quality performance.
  • Conduct supplier audits and qualification processes.
  • Resolve non-conformance issues with suppliers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in: Mechanical Engineering , Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Engineering, Related field
  • 5+ years of experience in quality management within metal mechanical or manufacturing industries.
  • Experience in: Metal fabrication, Welding, Machining, CNC processes & Industrial manufacturing
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Preferred
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Preferred
  • Lead Auditor ISO 9001 certification Preferred
  • Knowledge of: ISO quality standards, PFMEA / Control Plans, Quality Tools, Statistical Process Control (SPC), GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Proficiency with ERP and quality management software.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
