Global Connect Technologies is seeking a foundry engineer with casting expertise to lead process improvements in a high-precision environment in Mexico.

The role requires knowledge of sand and iron casting, data-driven problem solving, process audits, yield trending analysis, and applying 8D/DOE/root-cause methods; you will integrate feedback from machining and GD&T drawings to ensure flawless production.

Formación

• Understanding foundry principles and casting processes.
• Experience with sand casting and iron casting preferred.
• Ability to analyze production data and implement corrective actions.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Experience with LSS, DOE, and 8D problem solving.
• Ability to read and interpret GD&T drawings.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct process audits to ensure foundry controls are followed.
• Analyze yield trends and report production performance.
• Pareto defects and drive root-cause analysis to resolve issues.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to meet production quantities.

My ideal candidate would possess:

• Some level of understanding foundry principles and problem solving – ideally sand casting and ideally iron experience
• Highly motivated to dig into the details and drive solutions and corrective actions to current problems – porosity/NCU/core shift/over grinding/etc
• Very fluent in English and Spanish – communication has been a challenge for us
• Ability to conduct process audits to ensure foundry controls are being diligently followed
• Someone who is analytically versed and can work through multiple levels of processing and report on production/yield trends
• Someone with LSS background and understands complex process flow – we struggle with material movements/tracking and reporting of production – these castings have multiple highly engineered cores that all need to come together without flaw prior pouring
• Someone who can take downstream machining feedback and quickly analyze/Pareto out defect maps and drive those issues to resolve in the foundry through techniques of 8D/DOE/root cause analysis
• Someone who understands complicated casting and machining drawings, models and specifications – versed in GD&T
• Someone who has faced similar problems in the past – get a very complex part through validation, but then when into production really struggle to meet production quantities/requirement

Someone that is more than just a traffic director – really need someone who can dig in and “get into the weeds” and use data driven techniques to bring substantive improvements to yield and production efficiency
