Caterpillar is seeking a Customs and Trade Compliance professional to manage import/export operations, ensure on-time deliveries, and maintain regulatory compliance. This role coordinates across functions to support compliant shipments.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Foreign Trade or related field, fluent English, and at least 5 years in import/export or trade compliance. Location: Nuevo Laredo or Monterrey; 30% travel; face-to-face.

Role

Manage customs operation, import/export, on‑time delivery activities and procedures to ensure compliance, customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do
  • Coordinating procedures across functions for the import and export management to ensure the execution of compliant shipments and foster a cooperative atmosphere towards customer service.
  • Monitoring special programs of import/export accounts; assisting in the obtaining and preparing all necessary documentation in related logistics business.
Education Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in foreign Trade or a related field
  • Fluent English (Intermediate to Advanced)
Skills
  • Import/Export: Advanced knowledge of Foreign Trade regulations, including the Customs Law (Ley Aduanera)
  • Understanding of import and export compliance regulations established by local and international authorities, supported by a minimum of 5 years in import/export compliance, customs, foreign trade, or related functions.
  • Strong knowledge of pedimento classification and customs entry codes, particularly for temporary and virtual operations, including the corresponding foreign trade requirements and procedures.
  • Knowledge and administration of Annex 24
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of tools or techniques for recognizing and resolving problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different areas or departments (At different levels) to apply knowledge of problem solving to diverse situations.
  • Logistics Management: Ability to collaborate effectively with Supply Chain teams and understand key concepts and terminology related to business operations.
Considerations for the best candidates
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Previous experience in similar Customs, Foreign Trade, or Trade Compliance roles.
  • Knowledge and administration of CIVA (VAT/IEPS Certification) and Supply Chain Security Programs.
  • Experience managing and maintaining Annex 24 Inventory Control Systems, ensuring compliance with IMMEX and Foreign Trade regulations.
Additional information

This vacancy is 100% face‑to‑face and the location is Nuevo Laredo or Monterrey Relocation Assistance is not available for this position.

Availability to travel 30% nationally and internationally; a valid VISA is required.
