Job summary

AutoZone is seeking an experienced FinOps Engineer to advance our FinOps practice on Google Cloud Platform, focusing on optimization, automation, and cost governance. You will build data pipelines and dashboards, forecast cloud spend, allocate costs, and provide actionable insights to engineering, finance, and leadership.

The role requires a bachelor's in CS/MIS/IT and experience in cloud cost optimization, Looker/BigQuery, Terraform, and data engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, or closely related field.
• Experience in Cloud Cost optimization or FinOps.
• Experience with major public clouds (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with cloud-native data services and Looker/BI.
• Familiarity with Terraform.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the evolution of the FinOps Roadmap for AutoZone.
• Advance and automate Cloud FinOps practices, including optimization and cost governance.
• Develop dashboards and self-service analytics for engineering and leadership.
• Build and maintain data pipelines supporting FinOps reporting and forecasting.
• Provide reporting on cloud spend, usage, and value to executives.
• Collaborate across Product, Engineering, and Finance to optimize costs.
• Bridge finance and technology gaps with structured communication.
