Job summary

Flex is seeking a Failure Analysis Engineer in Guadalajara, North Campus to diagnose and resolve failures in complex electronic products. The role emphasizes advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and developing robust test solutions to improve quality and efficiency.

You will collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Process Engineering, support NPI activities, and generate clear technical reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electronics, mechatronics, electrical, automation, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Proficient in English (intermediate).
• Experience in electronics manufacturing.
• Experience developing and validating functional test (FCT) solutions.
• Strong failure analysis and electronics troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with test automation and data acquisition.
• Knowledge of functional test scripts.
• Experience supporting manufacturing test stations and diagnostic tools.
• Experience with routers, switches, and servers.

Responsibilities

• Perform failure analysis on electronic assemblies, PCBs, and finished products.
• Troubleshoot electronic failures using lab equipment including oscilloscopes and multimeters.
• Interpret schematics, datasheets, and technical docs.
• Develop and validate functional test solutions for new products and processes.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing operations for complex issues.
• Analyze and debug microcontroller-based and embedded systems.
• Develop scripts and tools to automate testing and data collection.
• Generate technical reports with actions and improvements.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Process Engineering to implement corrective actions.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and test development.
• Create and maintain troubleshooting and testing documentation.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Failure Analysis Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the Failure Analysis Engineer role is responsible for diagnosing, analyzing, and resolving failures in complex electronic products through advanced troubleshooting techniques, functional testing, and root cause analysis. This role supports manufacturing operations by developing, validating, and improving functional test solutions while ensuring product quality, reliability, and process efficiency.

What a typical day looks like:

• Perform failure analysis on electronic assemblies, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and finished products.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electronic failures using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other laboratory equipment.
• Interpret electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, datasheets, and technical documentation.
• Develop, implement, and validate functional test solutions for new products and manufacturing processes.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing operations for complex product and process issues.
• Analyze and debug microcontroller-based and embedded systems.
• Develop scripts, tools, and software applications to automate testing and data collection.
• Generate technical reports documenting failures, corrective actions, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Process Engineering teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including test development and validation.
• Create and maintain documentation, procedures, and standards related to troubleshooting and functional testing.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Electrical, Automation, Computer Engineering, or related field
• Intermediate English
• Knowledge of electronic circuit troubleshooting and diagnostics.
