Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Equipment Maintenance Engineer located in Tijuana, B.C., Mexico. Reporting to the Equipment Maintenance Manager, the role involves:

What a typical day looks like:
  • Analyzes and implements corrective action reports and process tracking mechanisms.
  • Records times and problems in equipment logs.
  • Provides daily equipment functioning activity information.
  • Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.
  • Disassembles instruments and equipment and inspects components for defects.
  • Aligns repairs, replaces, and balances component parts and circuitry.
  • Devises formulas to solve problems in measurements and calibrations.
  • Assists engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain the precision and accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment.
  • The highest level may perform both software and hardware maintenance.
  • Allocates work to a team of fitters.
  • Carries out quality inspections.
  • Fixes faults on site or arranges for replacement machinery or equipment to be installed.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
  • Intermediate English proficiency.
  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Advanced PLC/SQL programming skills (AB, Mitsubishi, Omron, GE Fanuc, etc.).
  • Knowledge in electronics (digital/analog) and basic knowledge of molding.
  • Advanced servo drivers programming (Parker, AB, etc.).
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD / SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (VB, C++, LabVIEW, SQL, Access).
  • Experience working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or computerized systems (molding, ultrasonic, and FFS machines).
  • Knowledge in RF and ultrasonic sealing.
  • Knowledge in pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
  • Basic knowledge of molding machines (Arburg / Cincinnati).
  • Basic knowledge of laser markers.
