Job Description

Job Summary:

General Motors de Mexico is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Intern to support our environmental team in Mexico. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in environmental management within a large automotive manufacturing setting, contributing to sustainable operations and compliance initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with the collection, analysis, and reporting of environmental data (e.g., water usage, waste generation, emissions).


• Support the implementation and monitoring of environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).


• Participate in environmental inspections and audits, identifying potential areas for improvement.


• Help research and stay updated on relevant environmental regulations and best practices in Mexico.


• Assist in the development and delivery of environmental awareness training materials for employees.


• Support the preparation of environmental reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.


• Collaborate with various departments to integrate environmental considerations into daily operations.


• Perform other environmental-related tasks as assigned by the environmental team.

Job Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.


• Strong academic record.


• Basic understanding of environmental regulations and principles.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides).


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken) is required.


• Prior internship experience in an environmental role is a plus.
