Fitch Ratings in Monterrey, Mexico is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design and enhance secure cloud platform capabilities. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of experience in platform engineering and strong hands-on experience with AWS.

As part of Fitch's Technology & Data Team, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to support enterprise-scale environments and implement best practices in automation and security.

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS.
  • Experience with CI/CD, continuous deployment, infrastructure as code, and platform automation.

About The Team

Join the Data Marketplace Tech team within the CSO organization—a highly visible group responsible for designing, building, and scaling solutions that free up data and empower business decisions across Fitch. The team collaborates closely with stakeholders across the organization to deliver next-generation data capabilities with a focus on faster time to market, data engineering, robust data controls, innovation, and leveraging AI/ML for data solutions.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Design and evolve secure, scalable, and resilient cloud platform capabilities that improve reliability, standardization, and delivery speed for enterprise engineering and data teams.
  • Build and enhance automated software delivery, infrastructure provisioning, and deployment practices to enable consistent, repeatable, and efficient releases across environments.
  • Embed security, code quality, and artifact governance controls into engineering workflows to strengthen platform integrity and reduce delivery risk.
  • Improve operational resilience through observability, incident response readiness, disaster recovery planning, and recovery testing for critical platforms and services.
  • Develop reusable platform standards, self-service capabilities, and engineering patterns that improve governance, operational efficiency, and team adoption.
  • Partner with engineering, security, architecture, and data teams to deliver platform services that support modern data ecosystems, AI-enabled solutions, and distributed architecture needs.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers while promoting best practices, innovation, and a culture of continuous improvement across platform engineering initiatives.
  • Drive observability and operational excellence through proactive monitoring, alerting, logging, and performance management practices using Datadog and related tools, reducing incident risk and improving platform health.
You May Be a Good Fit If
  • 5 - 8 years of experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering supporting enterprise-scale production environments.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with AWS, along with working knowledge of Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform, across infrastructure, networking, identity, storage, compute, and managed services.
  • Proven experience with CI/CD, continuous deployment, infrastructure as code, and platform automation using tools such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Terraform, Python, Shell scripting, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience implementing observability and DevSecOps practices using tools such as Datadog, Sonar, Veracode, and JFrog, including monitoring, code scanning, vulnerability management, and artifact repository controls.
  • Experience supporting modern data platforms and distributed architecture patterns, including an understanding of Data Mesh concepts; familiarity with Trino or similar distributed query engines is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, runtime environments, integrations, and production operations.
  • Hands‑on experience with disaster recovery, backup and recovery strategies, failover planning, and operational support for highly available production systems.

  • Experience supporting enterprise data platforms, including Data Mesh concepts, federated data access patterns, and technologies such as Trino, Databricks, or Snowflake.
  • Understanding and implementation experience with modern authentication and authorization patterns, including OAuth, OpenID Connect, token-based authentication, and authorization code flows.
  • Experience applying AI-enabled tools to improve engineering productivity, operational automation, incident management, and continuous deployment effectiveness.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across engineering, security, data and business stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to create reusable engineering patterns, platform templates, and standardized workflows that accelerate adoption and improve consistency across teams.
