Yazaki North America, Inc. is seeking a Product Development Engineer to lead the design, release and ongoing improvement of automotive wire harness systems.

You will work with customers and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into manufacturable solutions and support product launches and changes. You will design and release Electrical Distribution Systems using CAD and PLM, manage changes, interpret requirements, and coordinate design reviews.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • 2–6 years in automotive product development.
  • Experience with CAD/PLM tools (CATIA, NX, AutoCAD).
  • Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP and change management.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Onsite at office and reliable transportation.

Responsabilidades

Product Development Engineer – EDS Design Release
About the Role

As a Product Development Engineer, you will lead engineering activities related to the design, release and continuous improvement of automotive wire harness systems. Working closely with customers and multidisciplinary teams, you'll transform technical requirements into manufacturable solutions while supporting product launches, engineering changes and ongoing program success.

What You'll Do
  • Design and release Electrical Distribution Systems using CAD and PLM platforms.
  • Manage engineering changes throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Interpret customer requirements and translate them into robust engineering solutions.
  • Coordinate design reviews and validation activities.
  • Perform Engineering Change Impact Analysis and support DFMEA and DVP activities.
  • Support prototype builds, production launches and customer engineering requests.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Costing, Systems Engineering and Quality teams.
  • Identify opportunities for product optimization, quality improvements and cost reduction.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline.
  • 2–6 years of experience in automotive product development.
  • Experience with CATIA, NX, AutoCAD, Harness XC or similar software.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP, engineering change management and Design for Manufacturing.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Onsite at office
  • Must have reliable transportation from and to work
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally
  • Overtime may be necessary from time-to-time

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to troubleshoot and rework wire harnesses in warehouse setting, during wire harness or vehicle builds, or after assembly on the vehicles.
  • Ability to lift wire harness assemblies up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to climb inside of vehicles to troubleshoot and rework.
