Versigent seeks a senior labor and employment attorney to support the Americas, with a primary focus on Mexico. You will advise HR and business partners on employee relations, hiring, discipline, and separations, and draft policies and training materials.

Lightning-fast, accurate counsel is required across workforce changes, due diligence, and regulatory developments. This on-site role spans Mexico and the US, demanding bilingual fluency and collaboration across zones.

Responsibilities

Support labor and employment legal matters across the Americas with a primary focus on Mexico regional operations under the guidance of senior legal team members. Provide day-to-day legal support to Human Resources and business stakeholders on employment-related issues, including employee relations matters, policy interpretation, hiring, discipline, and separations. Research and analyze labor and employment laws, regulations, and emerging legal developments, and assist in assessing potential business impacts. Support Global Human Resources Centers of Excellence (e.g., Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, Labor Relations) on employment-related legal matters and initiatives. Draft, review, and revise employment-related agreements, policies, procedures, communications, and training materials. Assist with the implementation and maintenance of company employment policies, practices, and procedures. Support employment-related aspects of workforce changes, reorganizations, business integrations, and other organizational initiatives. Assist with labor and employment due diligence and integration activities related to mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions. Support the management of employment claims, administrative charges, litigation matters, and pre-litigation disputes, including document collection, fact gathering, and coordination with outside counsel. Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials for internal stakeholders and department initiatives. Maintain matter tracking systems, legal records, and departmental metrics. Contribute to the development and enhancement of employment, compliance, and litigation-related processes, templates, and best practices. Assist in the administration of compliance programs, including the Code of Conduct, Supplier Code of Conduct, and related policies and procedures. Support the intake, review, documentation, and tracking of concerns reported through the company’s ethics helpline and other reporting channels. Conduct fact gathering and assist with internal investigations, documentation, and follow-up activities as directed. Monitor regulatory and compliance developments and assist with risk assessments and compliance-related projects. Identify potential legal and compliance risks and elevate issues to senior legal team members as appropriate. Participate in cross-functional projects and provide legal support to other areas within the Employment, Litigation, and GRC function as needed. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Must work on-site in the Ciudad Juarez, Mexico or Troy, Michigan office, travel occasionally as needed, and collaborate across multiple time zones. Fluent in English and Spanish.

Experience

10+ years of experience as an attorney advising organizations on labor and employment matters, preferably with a combination of law firm and in‑house experience. Experience providing practical legal advice on employment‑related matters, including employee relations, workplace investigations, policy interpretation, compliance, and employment litigation. Experience supporting Human Resources and business stakeholders on employment law issues. Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating employment‑related agreements, policies, and related documentation. Experience supporting litigation matters, administrative agency charges, internal investigations, and outside counsel management. Experience with employment law considerations in organizational changes, workforce restructurings, or business transactions. Experience working with cross‑functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders across multiple functions and geographic regions preferred. Knowledge of global employment law concepts and multinational work environments is a plus.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and legal matter management tools; interest in leveraging technology to improve efficiency is preferred. Comfortable working in a fast‑paced and evolving business environment.
