EMLinQ LLC seeks an experienced SMT Process and Programming Engineer to develop, program, maintain, and improve surface-mount manufacturing processes. You will support new product introduction, production troubleshooting, equipment programming, process validation, quality improvement, and operator training.

• Five+ years hands-on SMT process engineering or manufacturing engineering in electronics
• Experience programming automated pick-and-place equipment
• Strong knowledge of SMT printing, placement, reflow, SPI, AOI, X-ray inspection
• Ability to create machine programs from Gerber, ODB++, BOM, centroid, and assembly data
• Experience developing and maintaining component and package libraries
• Strong knowledge of feeder setup, tape-and-reel, nozzle selection, vision programming, polarity, and placement tolerances
• Knowledge of lead-free and tin-lead soldering processes
• Experience using thermal profilers and interpreting reflow-profile data
• Ability to read engineering drawings, PCB documentation, component datasheets, and specs
• Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001
• Understanding of ESD controls and moisture-sensitive devices handling
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to work directly with operators and technicians on the manufacturing floor
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and standard manufacturing data systems
• Ability to manage multiple jobs in a high-mix manufacturing environment

EMLinQ LLC is seeking an experienced SMT Process and Programming Engineer responsible for developing, programming, maintaining, and improving surface-mount manufacturing processes. This position supports new product introduction, production troubleshooting, equipment programming, process validation, quality improvement, and operator training.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience programming SMT equipment and developing reliable processes for high-mix, low-to-medium-volume PCB assemblies, including fine-pitch components, 01005 components, QFNs, BGAs, micro-BGAs, LEDs, and other complex packages.

Minimum Qualifications

• Five or more years of hands-on SMT process engineering, programming, or manufacturing engineering experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience programming automated pick-and-place equipment.
• Strong understanding of SMT printing, component placement, reflow soldering, SPI, AOI, and X-ray inspection.
• Ability to create machine programs from Gerber, ODB++, BOM, centroid, and assembly data.
• Experience developing and maintaining component and package libraries.
• Strong knowledge of feeder setup, tape-and-reel packaging, nozzle selection, vision programming, component polarity, and placement tolerances.
• Working knowledge of lead-free and tin-lead soldering processes.
