Job summary

Ford of Mexico seeks a Supplier Technical Assistance Electronics Engineer to support our global suppliers with manufacturing technical expertise and to help reduce vehicle losses through proactive countermeasures.

You will lead supplier risk evaluations, PPAP reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires up to 70% travel to the US, Mexico, and Canada to drive issue resolution and prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science / Engineering or equivalent; automotive supplier experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years of experience in analyzing machine settings for pick-and-place, solder printers, reflow ovens, and machine vision systems.
• Knowledge of electronic manufacturing standards (IPC-610, ISO 9000, ANSI S20.20, MIL, IATF 16949).
• Experience in process planning, implementation, and launch in electronics manufacturing systems.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Conduct supplier risk assessments and onsite evaluations to mitigate risk.
• Industrialize new suppliers or technologies and support capacity studies.
• Review PPAP and ensure compliance with Ford's processes.
• Drive FMEA, SPC, and Lean methods to improve quality performance.
• Lead cross-functional decisions and drive corrective actions with suppliers.
