Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a hands-on electromechanical design engineer to shape the Safety Switches portfolio within the R&D Power Products NAM Engineering team. You’ll evolve existing products and deliver manufacturable solutions aligned with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in electromechanical product design and development.
• Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering degree; master’s is a plus.
• Experience in new product development and gated lifecycle processes.
• FMEAs, risk analysis experience; knowledge of safety standards.
• Exposure to manufacturing processes, materials, and sheet metal design.
• Strong CAD skills, Creo Parametric preference, and PLM familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Support the Safety Switches offer through maintenance and evolution.
• Lead product evolution projects from concept to qualification.
• Translate customer requirements into manufacturable engineering solutions.
• Apply design for manufacturability and validation methodologies.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, and marketing.
• Create and update FMEAs, FTAs, and risk analyses.
• Create, review, and approve parametric models and drawings.
• Interpret test data and communicate technical conclusions.
• Apply GD&T and manufacturability principles for quality and reliability.
