POSITION SUMMARY
The SFA (Special Feature Authorization) Electrical Engineer will contribute to the design and release of customizations to chillers; will work in a cross-functional development group; managing a variety of tasks and activities are required in this dynamic environment; solving complex problems where no precedent exists.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and revise unit wiring schematics and network connection drawings
- Create and review electric panel layouts following relevant codes and standards
- Create and revise wire harnesses
- Check and approve drawings and bill of materials
- Work with software team to develop and verify CRAC system controls
- Work with development scientist to validate setup of new electrical customizations
- Participate in identification of cost reduction opportunities and in the design and development of cost reduction changes
- Implement product changes to solve field issues, support service department
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in an electrical engineering field.
- Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment independently and as a member of a dynamic team; offer and receive constructive criticism
- Ability to mentor and guide less experienced team members
- Demonstrated history of delivering quality products to market with understanding and respect for phases of the product development process
- Excellent project management skills and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferred CREO 4.0 and greater
- Knowledge of NEC (NFPA79), IEEE 519, UL 508A SB
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred 4-8 years of experience in an HVAC related electrical engineering field: experience with Chillers preferred
- Experience with PLM systems (BOM management and change order release)
- Experience working closely with associates in manufacturing engineering and production roles
- Knowledge of UL60335-2-40 or equivalent CSA/UL standards
- Understanding electrical schematic layout and creation
- Experience with communications and interconnects standards and protocols including RS485, CAN, and Ethernet
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or university
