SEGULA Technologies is seeking an Electrical Design Release Engineer (DRE) with 5+ years in automotive to lead end-to-end integration of electrical components, ECUs, and network interfaces across programs from concept to SOP.

You will interface with internal engineering teams, suppliers, and plant operations, drive APQP/PPAP, DFMEA, and DVP&R, and support vehicle launches with on-site troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years as DRE or Electrical Component Integration Engineer in OEM/Tier-1 automotive.
• Experience releasing ECUs, sensors, wire harnesses, or power electronics.
• Strong CAD/PLM and vehicle network diagnostics experience.
• Knowledge of APQP/PPAP, DFMEA, DVP&R, ISO 26262.

Responsabilidades

• Technical Design, Component Release & Architecture Integration
• Lead EE component integration (ECUs, sensors, actuators, wiring, PDU)
• Manage component lifecycle in PLM, including 3D/2D CAD, sign-offs, ECN/CN
• Author SOW, SRD, and technical specs for Tier-1 sourcing
• Define electrical interfaces with EE architecture and in-vehicle networks
• Develop and manage DFMEA and DVP&R
• Oversee supplier and vehicle validation testing (EMC, thermal, environmental, ISO 26262)
• Lead 8D/5-Why/Fishbone root-cause investigations
• Lead PDT meetings aligning stakeholders with Tier-1 teams
• Hold suppliers to milestones and cost targets
• Oversee APQP milestones and PPAP sign-offs
• Provide on-site support at plants during trial builds
• Drive VAVE and continuous improvement

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Release Engineer (DRE) specializing in Electrical/Electronic Component Integration (EECI) with a minimum of 5 years of automotive industry experience. In this role, you will take end-to-end technical leadership of complex vehicle electrical components, electronic control units (ECUs), and network interfaces across all stages of development—from early architecture layout and prototype builds to mass production launch. You will serve as the primary technical authority interfacing with internal cross-functional engineering teams, manufacturing plant operations, and Tier-1 suppliers.

• Technical Design, Component Release & Architecture Integration


• Lead the mechanical, electrical, and functional integration of complex EE components (e.g., ECUs, sensors, actuators, wiring harnesses, power distribution units).


• Manage complete component lifecycle engineering release in PLM systems, approving 3D/2D CAD packaging, schematic sign-offs, and Engineering Change Notices (ECN/CN).


• Author comprehensive Statement of Work (SOW), System Requirement Documents (SRD), and technical compliance specifications for Tier-1 sourcing.


• Define and validate electrical interfaces aligned with vehicle EE architecture, power distribution/grounding schemes, and in-vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet).


• Develop, update, and manage robust DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and DVP&R (Design Verification Plan & Report).


• Direct and oversee supplier and vehicle-level validation testing including EMC, thermal endurance, environmental exposure, and functional safety (ISO 26262).


• Lead structured root-cause investigation (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) for critical technical issues identified during bench, HIL, prototype, or pre-production plant builds.


• Lead Product Development Team (PDT) meetings, aligning internal stakeholders (Vehicle Packaging, Thermal, Software, Quality, Purchasing) with Tier-1 supplier technical teams.


• Hold suppliers strictly accountable to project milestones, technical deliverables, cost targets, weight reductions, and design quality.


• Oversee Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) milestones and grant technical sign-offs for Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).


• Provide hands-on on-site technical support at vehicle assembly plants during trial builds (Proto, Pilot, Pre-Series) to resolve immediate package, functional, or assembly issues.


• Drive post-SOP (Start of Production) value engineering (VAVE), warranty reduction, and continuous product improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).


• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of direct experience as an Electrical Design Release Engineer (DRE) or Electrical Component Integration Engineer within an OEM or Tier-1 automotive environment.


• Technical Skills:


• Demonstrated track record releasing automotive ECUs, sensors, wire harnesses, or power electronics from concept through Start of Production (SOP).


• Advanced proficiency in CAD/PLM platforms (e.g., CATIA V5/V6, Siemens NX, Teamcenter).


• Hands-on experience with automotive bus diagnostics and network tools (e.g., Vector CANoe, CANalyzer).


• Deep technical fluency in automotive standards: APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, DVP&R, and ISO 26262 / Functional Safety.


• Leadership & Soft Skills: Strong technical project management, cross-functional leadership, structured problem-solving, and supplier negotiation capabilities.
