Descripción de la vacante

Bendix seeks an Electrical Controls Design Engineer to design automation panels from concept to completion for multiple sites. You will work on electrical schematics, PLC/HMI programming, and robot integration while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Travel to customer facilities is expected, with 50% travel. A bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field is required and AutoCAD Electrical is preferred.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering or related field required.
  • 5+ years designing control panels for automation systems preferred.
  • Experience with Electrical 2D schematic design software (AutoCAD Electrical).
  • PLC and HMI programming experience required; robot programming a plus.

Responsabilidades

  • Evaluate electrical systems and applications by designing automation solutions.
  • Create electrical design drawings from project requirements and manufacturing methods.
  • Develop machinery by designing and modifying equipment for assembly.
  • Verify system capabilities with testing and documentation.
  • Prepare wiring diagrams and harness fabrication statements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and customers; travel to facilities as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and NFPA 79/OSHA.

Electrical Controls Design Engineer needed for a new organization that produces custom, automated machinery for various locations within Bendix. They must have experience with Electrical 2D design software and be able to design from concept to completion. Someone with HMI and PLC programming experience is required.

  • Prefer 5+ years engineering experience in designing control panels for automation systems.
  • Demonstrate experience in the following software programs:
  • o Electrical Schematic 2D software (AutoCAD Electrical plus)
  • o PLC and HMI programming languages is required
  • o Robot programming is a plus (Fanuc)
  • o Servo Drives experience is a plus
  • o Pneumatic design experience is required
  • o Sensor Technologies (flow, pressure, level, temperature, analytical, counters, position, motion, vision, etc.)
  • o Networks and PC tools (CC Link, DeviceNet, Ethernet, EthernetIP, EtherCAT, I/O Link)
  • o Microsoft Office
  • Attributes:
  • o Knowledge of and experience working in a manufacturing environment with technical knowledge of operations and manufacturing flow.
  • o Up-to-date professional and technical knowledge.
  • o Able to conceptualize and communicate technical information, verbally and in writing.
  • o Understanding of RIA Robot Safety Standards, OSHA Safety Standards, and NFPA 79 standards, and NEC.
  • o 50% travel

education: Bachelors in Electrical engineering or Related degree

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing automation systems, applying knowledge of electricity and materials.
  • Confirm systems and components capabilities.
  • Create electrical design drawings by studying project requirements/specifications and manufacturing and assembly methods and materials and collaborate with other essential departments.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling components.
  • Assure product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
  • Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
  • Creation of wiring diagrams, wire routing schematics, and harness fabrication statements, as well as assisting with the documentation of systems.
  • Draw and modify schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Create panel design resulting in selection of components, create electrical part lists for ordering, and create purchasing requisitions.
  • Create controls design standards and templates based on company practices.
  • Construct manuals and support documentation for customers.
  • Assist technicians with questions related to schematics.
  • Assist with the support hardware debug to verify system operation.
  • Work with the engineering team and customers regarding projects.
  • Travel to customer facilities prior to system design and to assist at other times when needed.
  • Other duties as necessary to ensure organizational success and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Allen Bradley and Siemens Controls PLC (5 year of experience is preferred, 3 year minimum)
  • Robotics (5 year of experience is preferred, 3 year minimum)li>
  • Electrical controls panel design (3 year of experience is required)
  • Knowledge on safety ( safety control requirements) of PLC's and control systems.
  • Pneumatic design experience is required
