Job Description
About Your Role

Lead the EHS function for multiple manufacturing units in India.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Drive EHSpolicies and Standards implementation in a manufacturing site.
  • To coordinate / conduct EHSsystems audits / inspection.
  • Implementing EHS management systems to meet the standard requirement of Avery Dennison, relevant certifications.
  • Liaise with relevant Government officials & ensure relevant Statutory and regulatory compliance at sites with necessary documentation.
  • Coordinate with site/unit Managers to implement relevant EHS programs.
  • Budget preparation and spending control.
  • Carries out accident / incident investigations.
  • Periodically conduct safety audit, identify unsafe conditions & drive CAPA implementation across the plant towards achieving ZERO accident status.
  • Responsible for planning & execution of EHS training calendar.
  • Responsible of Security area, coordinate activities to reinforce the security in the plant.
  • Support in the CTPAT certification.
  • Conduct risk assessment and hazard analysis for current operations, recommends corrective actions and ensures timely implementation to comply with EHS standards.
  • Promoting better EHSculture by driving various EHS performance improvement initiatives and employee engagement activities.
  • Evaluate new and advanced systems and technologies in the area of EHS and drive continuous improvements in EHS performance of the Organization.
  • Implementing EHS work permit system, imparting EHS training to the employees to create / increase awareness.
  • Identifying activities and processes which are hazardous and undertaking steps for curtailing associated risks.
  • Management of fire hydrant system, fire alarm system.
  • Solid waste management and driving actions towards Reduction, Recycle, Reuse & Replace options.
  • Chemical Management: Reviewing MSDS for MRSL compliance of various brands, Ensuring the safe usage of chemicals and training to employees.
  • Sustainability reporting and ensuring Avery Dennison 2025 and 2030 Sustainability goals for the site.
  • Responsible for reducing carbon emission.
  • Manage MIS related to EHS aspects and KPIs, maintain documentation as per internal EHS systems, Periodic performance reporting to local and Global teams.
  • Coordinate Medical Services of the plant.
  • Manage timely updating of EHS portals of the organization.
  • Ensuring EHS legal compliance for the facility.
  • EHS Policy and Standards Implementation: Support the Global EHS Manager in driving the implementation of EHS policies and standards across all manufacturing sites.
Audits and Inspections
  • Coordinate and conduct EHS system audits and inspections.
  • Ensure zero non-compliance during the customer audits.
  • Support for ISO 14001 and 45001 implementation in the manufacturing sites.
  • Assist in identifying non-compliances and areas for improvement, ensuring corrective actions are implemented timely.
Safety Audits and Risk Assessments
  • Periodically conduct safety audits to identify unsafe conditions and drive CAPA implementation.
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses for current operations, recommending and ensuring the implementation of corrective actions.
Training and Awareness
  • Assist in planning and executing the EHS training calendar.
  • Deliver EHS training to employees, enhancing their awareness and understanding of EHS practices.
Work Permit System and Waste Management
  • Implement the EHS work permit system and ensure compliance.
  • Support the management of the fire hydrant system, fire alarm system, sewage and water treatment plants.
  • Drive actions towards solid waste management, focusing on reduction, recycle, reuse, and replace options.
EHS Reporting and Documentation
  • Manage EHS-related MIS and KPIs, ensuring accurate and timely documentation as per internal EHS systems.
  • Prepare periodic performance reports for local and global teams.
  • Ensure timely updates of EHS portals within the organization.
Qualifications
  • Degree with minimum 6+ year’s relevant experience.
  • Language proficiency : English advanced Required
  • Working knowledge in ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45000 systems.
  • Candidate should have working experience in Plant/ Manufacturing Unit as an EHS Manager.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in leading and managing individuals and teams.
  • High level of ethics and integrity, action oriented and proactive.
  • Analytical, Organized, Problem solving and Decision making.
  • Knowledge in relevant statutes of EHS aspects.
  • Strong Organizational & Project Management skills - Strategizing, Deployment of actions by aligning resources, employee capability building for successful execution, performance monitoring and achievement of desired results on time.
  • Strong leadership skills - Ability to lead, contribute, and influence others in a team-based organization.
  • Strong cross functional and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Understanding of applicable computer systems such as Google and function specific software.
