Flex is seeking an EH&S Engineer in Guadalajara, North Campus, to develop, implement, and monitor environmental safety programs ensuring local, state, and federal compliance. You will lead safety initiatives, coordinate across departments, and shop floor audits to prevent hazards.

The role requires a technical background in industrial environment, experience in metal‑mechanical manufacturing, and strong English communication skills. Strong collaboration and training delivery are essential.

Formación

• Degree in a relevant field is required or considered with equivalent experience.
• Experience in the metal-mechanical manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE/EHS) principles.
• Ability to lead and coordinate cross‑functional teams.

Responsabilidades

Job summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an EH&S Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus. Reporting to the EH&S Manager, the EH&S Engineer will be in charge of developing, implementing, and monitoring company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. What a typical day looks like

• Consults with all departments on design and use of equipment, fire prevention, and safety programs
• Examines plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to define if all safety precautions have been included.
• Tours plant to inspect fire and safety equipment, machinery and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Defines requirements for safety clothing and devices, and designs, builds, and installs or directs installation of safety devices on machinery.
• Conducts or coordinates safety training to educate workers about emergency acknowledgement, safety policies, laws and practices.
• Investigates industrial accidents to minimize recurrence and prepares accident reports.
• Conducts air quality tests for presence of harmful gases and vapors.
• In charge of identifying health and safety hazards and recommending corrective actions.
• Serves as internal consultant to business units on ergonomics, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene, and fire and chemical safety matters.
• Audits business units.
• Interfaces with outside vendors, contractors, and engineers regarding facilities, chemicals, and other workplace health and safety related matters.
• Compiles and submits safety reports.
• Administers workers compensation, OSHA 2000 log, and return to work program.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Business Administration, Biomedical Engineering, or a related medical field. Technical degrees (TSU) will also be considered.
• Experience in the metal‑mechanical manufacturing industry.
• Intermediate English proficiency.
• Ability to manage, lead, and coordinate teams.
• Technical professional with extensive hands‑on experience.
• Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE/EHS).
• Flexible availability to work different shifts as required.
• Support operational activities and incident investigations/analysis.
• Demonstrates functional skills and basic functional process knowledge and participates in process.
