Job summary

Flextronics, located in Guadalajara, is seeking an EH&S Engineer to develop, implement, and monitor the company’s environmental safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. You will lead safety initiatives in a high‑voltage manufacturing environment and partner with multiple teams to prevent incidents.

The role requires hands‑on leadership, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to conduct risk assessments, audits, and training across the facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering.
• Experience in Environmental, Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety regulations and standards.
• Experience with high/multi‑voltage systems (69KV to 115KV).

Responsibilities

• Consult with departments on design and use of equipment, fire prevention and safety programs.
• Inspect machinery and equipment to ensure safety precautions are in place.
• Audit plant facilities to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop safety devices and lockout/tagout procedures for machinery.
• Coordinate safety training and educate workers on policies and practices.
• Investigate accidents to minimize recurrence and prepare reports.
• Interface with vendors, contractors and engineers on safety matters.
• Administer workers’ compensation and OSHA records.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a EH&S Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus. Reporting to the EH&S Manager; the EH&S Engineer will be in charge of developing, implementing and monitoring company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Accident-free, healthy work.

What a typical day looks like:

• Consults with all departments on design and use of equipment, fire prevention and safety programs
• Examines plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to define if all safety precautions have been included.
• Tours plant to inspect fire and safety equipment, machinery and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Define requirements for safety clothing and devices, and designs, builds and installs or directs installation of safety devices on machinery.
• Conducts or coordinates safety training to educate workers about emergency acknowledge, safety policies, laws and practices.
• Investigates industrial accidents to minimize recurrence and prepares accident reports.
• Conducts air quality tests for presence of harmful gases and vapors.
• In charge of identifying health and safety hazards and recommending corrective actions.
• Serves as internal consultant to business units on ergonomics, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene and fire and chemical safety matters.
• Audits business units.
• Interfaces with outside vendors, contractors and engineers regarding facilities, chemicals and other workplace health and safety related matters.
• Compiles and submits safety reports.
• Administers workers compensation, OSHA 2000 log and return to work program.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electromechanical Engineering.
• Experience in Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety regulations and standards.
• Experience working with electrical systems ranging from 69KV to 115KV.
• Electrical Safety (NFPA 70E)
