Airswift is searching for a Drilling Operations Engineer to join a leading oil and gas operation based in Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico. This role involves the design, planning, and execution of drilling projects, ensuring safe and cost-effective operations.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering, at least 10 years of relevant experience, and strong knowledge of drilling and completion fluids, directional drilling, and well integrity.

Formación

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Drilling Engineer with a major or independent oil and gas operator.
• Strong knowledge of well control, well integrity, and cementing.
• Experience with complex drilling operations and HPHT wells.

Airswift is searching for a Drilling Operations Engineer to join a leading oil and gas operation based in Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, planning, and execution of drilling, completion, workover, and well intervention projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the development and review of drilling engineering designs, including well trajectories, drilling fluids, casing programs, directional drilling, and completion programs.
• Develop, review, and optimize drilling, completion, and well intervention programs for development, exploration, and workover wells.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and service providers to ensure operational readiness and successful project execution.
• Prepare RFQs, technical documentation, operational procedures, risk assessments, and project presentations.
• Lead operational planning activities, pre‑job meetings, and technical reviews.
• Ensure compliance with well integrity requirements, HSE standards, and applicable regulatory frameworks.
• Monitor drilling and well intervention performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement operational best practices.
• Coordinate logistics, materials, personnel, equipment, and third‑party services throughout project execution.
• Prepare operational reports, lessons learned, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and final well reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Drilling Engineer with a major or independent oil and gas operator.
• Advanced English communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of well design and construction, well control, well integrity, casing and completion design, drilling and completion fluids, directional drilling, cementing, formation evaluation, hydraulics, solids control, fishing operations, and well intervention activities.
• Experience using specialized well design and drilling engineering software.
• Project management and leadership experience.

Preferred Experience

• Offshore and/or onshore drilling operations.
• HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature) wells.
• Extended Reach Drilling (ERD).
• Deep wells, salt dome and subsalt drilling environments.
• Lost circulation challenges and complex drilling operations.
• Major and minor workover and well maintenance projects.
