The DJ - Entertainment Technician is responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, and technically excellent entertainment services for guests while ensuring adherence to company policies and striving for total guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Create a lively and energetic atmosphere for scheduled events and parties such as disco nights.
• Make sound judgments regarding music selection, suitability of material, and appropriate volume levels.
• Maintain equipment in a safe, clean, and fully operational condition.
• Work within prescribed event parameters and themes (e.g., deck parties, cocktail parties) as scheduled by ship management and the entertainment department.
• Organize and maintain the onboard music library.
• Accommodate special requests for charters and group events.
• Assist with equipment set‑ups, breakdowns, and clean‑ups in public areas under the direction of the Sound & Light Manager.
• Support set‑up for lectures, culinary demonstrations, guest talks, wine tastings, shore excursions presentations, and group events.
• Assist the Sound & Light Manager with sound checks, spotlight checks, and nightly performances.
• Participate in rehearsals for both onboard productions and guest entertainers.
• Assist with set‑up and clearing of band equipment and guest karaoke nights.
• During longer voyages (10+ days), organize and lead special DJ events and training sessions (e.g., creating a music library, optimizing music devices).
• Respond proactively and efficiently to issues, escalating concerns when necessary, and keeping supervisors fully informed of significant matters.
• Socialize with guests in public venues, enhancing their experience through personalized interaction.
• Assist in the training and orientation of new crew members.
• Adjust work schedule and locations as needed to align with overall daily operations.
• Consistently deliver service excellence, anticipating guest needs, and creating memorable experiences.
• Perform other duties as requested by supervisors.

Education / Experience / Qualifications

• Professional DJ background with technical support experience.
• Strong ability to read audiences and tailor music to diverse demographics in both casual and show-style environments.
• Confident microphone and hosting skills.
• Solid knowledge of sound and lighting equipment.
• Basic familiarity with entertainment show formats and procedures.
• Physically and medically fit, with high moral integrity.
• Excellent command of English (spoken and written), with the ability to follow and give clear instructions. Conversational ability in an additional language (e.g., German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese) is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Windows and Mac applications.
