A leading manufacturer of power capacitors is seeking a Director of Finance/Controller in Mexicali. This role is responsible for all accounting functions and requires a strong background in cost accounting within a manufacturing setting. Successful candidates will oversee financial strategies, manage audits, and collaborate closely with plant management to improve outcomes and achieve cost savings.

• 5-8 years’ experience in senior accounting or financial analysis.
• Strong background in Cost Accounting within manufacturing.
• CPA, CMA, MBA are considered advantages.

The Director of Finance/Controller is responsible for all accounting functions including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cost Accounting, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Payroll, and Cash Management.

Compensation: $5,000 - $6,050 / day

Reporting To: VP of Finance

Key Responsibilities

• Drive timely, accurate, and complete submission of all financial data including annual budgeting of income statement and balance sheet, quarterly forecasting, and monthly actual financials; understanding and explaining variances in performance to budgets and forecasts, and advising on actions to improve results.
• Collaborate with Plant Management to monitor and control expenses, identify improvement areas, and implement corrective actions.
• Track, validate, and report cost savings and value creation projects to promote continuous cost improvements.
• Partner with Plant Operations to ensure transparency with key managers in a dynamic business environment.
• Work closely with Operations on product costing to support growth decisions.
• Monitor and improve Working Capital, and implement related initiatives.
• Maintain a surprise-free control environment with timely, accurate account reconciliations.
• Manage all Financial and SOX audits with internal, external, and government auditors.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulations.
• Manage finance professionals at the Mexicali location and dotted line management.
• Some travel required (25%).

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Five to eight years’ experience in senior accounting or financial analysis, with a proven track record of responsibilities listed above.
• Strong background in Cost Accounting within manufacturing; experience as a Plant Controller preferred.
• CPA, CMA, MBA, Oracle, Traffic & Customs experience are pluses.
