Job summary

Ford Motor is seeking a part-time trainee in Product Development Operations and Quality. You will assist engineers with design improvements, ensure on-time program delivery, and support validation activities across ES, SDS, and GPDS, aligned with customer requirements.

Qualifications include being a BS or final-year Mechanical Engineer student, strong problem-solving, familiarity with engine air and exhaust components, MS Office, and effective written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

  • Support Engineering activities to deliver program on time.
  • Understand GPDS and create plans to deliver on time.
  • Participate in Technical Design Reviews.
  • Update BOM and manage engineering change process.
  • Coordinate validation activities per SDS & ES (DVP/FEDE).
  • Follow up prototypes at part level and track revisions.
  • Support VQRs, VRTs and PVT as required.

Job Description

The trainee makes some engineering activities to help the Product Development engineers to design improvements to increase quality and cost / weight optimization, help the responsible engineer to comply with Corporate and Local Requirements for parts validation, considering the Customers Requirements), ES (Engineering Specifications) and SDS (Systems Design specifications) as well as the Manufacturing and Assembly requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Support Engineering activities to contribute to Deliver the Program deliveries on time.
  • Understand GPDS (Global Product Development System) and create plans to deliver on time.
  • Knowledge and application of Problem-solving strategies.
  • Actively participate in the Technical Design Reviews.
  • Manage FEDEBOM and WERS for engineering change process.
  • Audit and update BOM (Bill of Material) with correct part levels and usage, for prototype and production builds.
  • Be aware of Worldwide Engineering changes and proceed accordingly
  • Identify validation, durability and functional test required as per SDS & ES. (DVP / FEDE)
  • Follow up the engineering prototypes at part level.
  • PDL's revisions and proceed accordingly if affected
  • Support VQR's, VRT's and PVT, as required.
  • Deliver by applying the One Ford Behaviors.
Qualifications
  • BS or last year student of Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for complex issues using a data-driven approach.
  • Familiarity and experience with Engine Air and Exhaust components, materials, and their manufacturing processes is desired.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with Catia V5 required; 3DX / Catia V6.
