Job summary

Kapsch TrafficCom América Latina is seeking a Database Engineer to design, implement, and optimize the data layer of software solutions. You will build scalable data services, optimize performance, and ensure reliability for business-critical applications.

You will design schemas for transactional systems and Data Warehouses, develop SQL Server objects, and create BI reports using SSRS/Power BI. Strong SQL, ETL, and data modeling skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining databases and Data Warehouses.
• Experience with BI solutions and Power BI.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and web services integration.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and modern coding practices.
• Experience with GitLab and source control.
• Strong SQL development and performance tuning.
• Experience in high-transaction, low-latency, highly available environments.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/SE or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain database schemas for transactional systems and Data Warehouses.
• Develop SQL Server objects: tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, functions, triggers.
• Build data repositories and services using C# and Entity Framework.
• Develop ETL processes using SSIS and other data integration tools.
• Create OLAP and tabular models using SSAS.
• Develop, publish, and enhance reports and dashboards using SSRS and Power BI.
• Optimize T-SQL queries, ETL pipelines, and analytical models for performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with business analysts to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting needs.
• Document database models, ETL workflows, coding standards, and BI user guides.
