Job summary

Globant in Mexico is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to advance SecOps and GCP strategies, embedding security into the software development lifecycle. You will help design and automate detection, response and threat-hunting workflows across cloud-native environments.

The role requires strong GCP DevSecOps experience, SIEM/SOAR operations, and the ability to work with security tooling and APIs. English proficiency is essential; Mexico-based remote work is supported.

Qualifications

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform in a DevSecOps context.
• End-to-end management of SIEM/SOAR platforms for security operations.
• Design scalable log ingestion pipelines and parsers for telemetry.
• Apply Unified Data Model (UDM) for log structuring and normalization.
• Write and fine-tune defensive rules using YARA-L.
• Build automated incident response playbooks (SOAR).
• Threat hunting and forensic investigations using Google Threat Intelligence and APIs.
• Certifications in Google Cloud security (preferred).

We seek a Cybersecurity Engineer, Senior with SecOps and GCP who shares our passion for innovation and change. This role is critical to helping our business partners evolve and adapt to consumers' personalized expectations in this new technological era.

What will help you succeed:

• Conversational English.
• Experience working with GCP under a DevSecOps approach, integrating and automating defensive security practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• End-to-end management and implementation of the unified SIEM and SOAR platform (formerly Chronicle) to strengthen defense infrastructure.
• Design scalable log ingestion pipelines and create custom parsers to ensure high-quality telemetry for event detection.
• Apply deep knowledge of the Unified Data Model (UDM) for proper log structuring and normalization.
• Write, test, and fine-tune defensive detection rules using YARA-L to identify emerging threats.
• Build and automate complex incident response playbooks (SOAR) to contain threats and reduce mean time to respond/resolve (MTTR).
• Execute proactive threat hunting and forensic investigations leveraging Google Threat Intelligence, and integrate third-party security tools via APIs.
• Preferred: Certifications such as Google Cloud Professional Security Engineer, Google Cloud Security Operations Engineer, or training in Google SIEM & SOAR.
