Qualifications

• Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or technical field with five years of related experience.
• Ability to apply analytical skills and scientific technical principles in problem solving.
• Demonstrated computer skills, preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database software.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member.
• Working knowledge of United States and international standards as applicable to the department.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, selects, and applies standard technical techniques and criteria with judgment for minor adaptations.
• Investigates a moderate number of technical variables to meet defined objectives.
• Performs work on conventional plans, surveys, structures, or equipment with few precedents.
• Works independently on standard projects with assistance on unusual problems.
• May supervise engineers/technicians and coordinate with other engineers.
• Writes ECNs and creates prototypes under broad direction.
• May have authority over NCMRs.
