Hutchinson is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer in Mexico to design electrical controls, schematics, and panel layouts, and to write PLC and robot programs. You will oversee installations and coordinate with outside contractors.

The role focuses on achieving efficiency, reliability, and safety, ensuring conformance to Hutchinson specifications, and providing training on new equipment. A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 4–7 years of related experience are required.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 4–7 years of related experience.
  • Experience with control systems for process equipment.
  • Ability to work with external contractors.
  • Knowledge of Hutchinson’s safety policies.

Responsabilidades

  • Design electrical controls including schematics and panel layouts.
  • Write PLC and robot programs and document controls.
  • Oversee control-related issues with outside contractors.
  • Ensure adherence to Hutchinson design specifications and requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Provide training on machine operation and maintenance.
  • Support maintenance with analysis of difficult equipment failures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Descripción del empleo

  • Must wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Work in a safe manner and maintain safe work area.
  • Reports on all potentially unsafe conditions.

Design of Electrical Controls - including: design of schematics, layout of panels, selection and ordering of associated components, writing PLC programs and robot programs, documentation of controls - schematics and programs, and overseeing electrical build and installation.

Overseeing all control related issues relevant to process equipment being built by outside contractors.

Responsibilities would include ensuring adherence to Hutchinson design specifications and requirements with primary focus on: machine controls, efficiency, reliability, maintenance requirements and preventive maintenance, personnel and machine safety, and conformance to Requirements from Vendors document.

Assist with evaluation and improvement of existing or future equipment where machine control modifications are necessary to overall efficiency and cost reduction.Primary responsibilities focuses on engineering required control modifications as well as overseeing that changes are completed accurately and on time including being available in crisis situations.

Assist Maintenance with analysis and repair of more difficult or problematic equipment failures including being available in crisis situations.

Provide training in regard to machine operation and maintenance requirements for all new equipment.

Other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge and practice of all applicable Hutchinson’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements.
  • Since it is impossible to foresee every situation in production needs, you may be assigned responsibilities outside the scope of the job description to meet production needs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; and four to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
