Dematic in Mexico is seeking Mechatronics/Controls Engineers to design and implement hardware and software for material handling automation systems. You will interpret design inputs, select electrical components, and develop conveyor control software using AB Logix Designer and Siemens TIA Portal.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Mechatronics or related field, advanced English, and 2+ years in automation engineering, with experience in PLC development and electrical drawings.

• Bachelor degree - Preferred in Mechatronics Engineering or related Electrical design field.
• Advanced English - Written and oral.
• 2+ years of Experience in Automation Engineering environment.
• 2+ years Experience selecting electrical automation components and developing electrical drawings.
• 2+ years Experience with PLC software development and/or code debugging (Siemens/ABB/Becoff).
• Desirable +1 year Experience on Material Handling Automation Projects or Environment.

Responsabilidades

• Electrical (HW) Design: interpret design input information to produce semi complex systems designs and place electrical components in conveyor systems.
• Design layouts and schematics using CAD tools and perform related calculations.
• Software Design: develop conveyor controls software using AB Logix Designer and Siemens TIA Portal; configure VFDs and create ECC configuration files.
• Document findings and results per Dematic standards and share knowledge with peers.

Hardware Design

Hardware Design activities of Material Handling Automation Systems using prescribed guidelines and policies. This includes but not limited to Support on the preparation of Documents such as calculations, design specifications, Description of Operations, and Test Specification; Attendance and Active Participation in the preparation of documents for Technical Reviews and his presentation Internally and with Customers

Software Design

Software Design of Material Handling Automation Systems using prescribed guidelines and policies

Tasks and Qualifications: This is What you Will Do in This Role:

Electrical (HW) Design - Using prescribed guidelines and policies.

Interprets design input information to produce semi complex systems designs. Select and placement of electrical and controls components in conveyor system ensuring accurate functioning. (Photoeyes, I/O Blocks, Beacon Lights, Control Stations, Gateways, VFDs, etc). Builds Electrical Layouts and Schematic Drawings using appropriate CAD tools. Performs FLA, Power Drop, Cable Length, and other calculations ensuring crafts accurate functioning and compliance with Dematic and Industrial Standards. Designs of industrial networks follow both Dematic and industrial standards (Ethernet, ProfiBus/ProfiNet, ASi, DCAN, etc.).

Software Design - Using prescribed guidelines and policies.

Design semi-complex conveyor controls software using programming tools such as AB Logix Designer, Siemens TIA Portal/Step 7, etc. Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) parameters configuration according to specific applications. Creation of Embedded Conveyor Controllers (ECCs) configuration and parameters files. Creation of Conveyor System Emulation Models for further testing. Document findings and/or results achieved according to Dematic standards such as: Best Practices, Standard Work Packages (Procedures Step by Step), New processes, application guidelines, and manuals. Share Built documents with less Experience engineers on forums such as but not limited to: Trainings, Spreadsheets, Manuals and others

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor degree - Preferred in Mechatronics Engineering and any other related to Electrical design field
• Advanced English - Written and Oral
• +2 year of Experience in the Automation Engineering work environment
• +2 Year Experience on the selection of electrical automation components and develop electrical Drawings
• +2 Year of Experience with PLC SW Development and/or Code Debugging (Siemens/ABB/Becoff)
• Desirable +1 Year Experience on Material Handling Automation Projects or Environment
