Job summary

WhatJobs Direct is seeking a seasoned Contador General with experience in international trade for a fully remote role serving a client in Tijuana, Baja California. You will maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with Mexican and international standards, and provide insights to support global operations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in general accounting, expert knowledge of NIF, foreign currency handling, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA is a strong asset.
• Minimum 5 years in general accounting, with at least 2 years in international trade accounting.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations: A/P, A/R, GL.
• Prepare financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) per NIF/IFRS where applicable.
• Handle accounting for import/export transactions (duties, tariffs, expenses).
• Manage foreign currency transactions, revaluations, and hedging accounting.
• Ensure compliance with Mexican tax laws for foreign trade and international ops.
• Reconcile bank statements and intercompany accounts.
• Support external audits and provide documentation.
• Develop and implement internal controls for international trade.
• Liaise with customs brokers and freight forwarders on financial matters.
• Analyze financial data and report KPI related to international business.
