Overview

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic construction manager to oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion. This professional is responsible for coordinating and supervising the construction, developing and delivering an overall construction strategy for the project, reviewing the project to schedule deliverables and estimate costs. The construction manager will hire and manage subcontractors and staff and provide input or prepare and submit budgets as needed. This role involves planning, organizing, scheduling, directing and controlling the delivery of the construction, overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations. The construction manager must ensure that value is maximized, the client’s reputation is protected, risks are mitigated, interfaces managed, and the required project controls are in place.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, schedule, direct and control construction delivery; oversee onsite and offsite activities to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate and supervise construction teams and subcontractors; input into budgets and resource planning as needed.
  • Provide input to or prepare and submit project budgets; monitor costs and deliverables.
  • Ensure alignment with project quality plans; implement and adhere to project safety standards and environmental protection requirements.
  • Review and approve construction-related plans and decisions across all packages.
  • Identify design changes and variations; notify project and package managers in a timely manner.
  • Resolve technical queries and disputes related to contractor documentation; support risk management and decision-making.
  • Provide technical and commercial input into construction plans; collaborate with engineering and O&M managers on construction issues.
  • Demonstrate analytical skills to plan strategies, investigate cost variances, and solve project problems; manage budgets and personnel; coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate leadership by delegating tasks to construction workers, subcontractors, and other managers to ensure timely, quality project completion.
  • Apply technical knowledge of construction technologies, contracts, and drawings; maintain passion for quality.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience as a construction manager, leading a team on construction sites.
  • Engineering degree with chartered status.
  • Experience delivering industrial, commercial base building and fit-out projects for retail/shopping malls; understanding of engineering and construction industry from technical and commercial perspectives; knowledge of up-to-date design developments, codes, and industry standards.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • PMI certification a plus.
