Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a Cloud Data Engineer Sr to lead enterprise data platform initiatives in Mexico. You will own Kubernetes, cloud deployments, data pipelines, and platform reliability across AWS and Azure, with hands-on leadership for Databricks, dbt, and Airflow.

The role supports hybrid work: 3 days per week in Guadalajara, Querétaro, Mexico City or Monterrey offices, with partners across architecture, security, and data teams to deliver scalable, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or production support.
• Advanced hands-on AWS and Azure experience for compute, storage, networking, security, and governance.
• Strong Kubernetes and Docker expertise including upgrades, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Databricks, dbt, Airflow, AutoSys; LASR and Caspian preferred.
• Terraform and CI/CD platforms (Harness, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) with reusable modules.
• Scripting in Python, Shell, Bash, or PowerShell to automate tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for Kubernetes and Docker environments including capacity planning and production troubleshooting.
• Enable platform for Databricks, dbt, Airflow, AutoSys, LASR, and Caspian with reliable integrations and scheduling.
• Design reusable automation, IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and self-service capabilities to improve speed and control.
• Upgrade, patch, vulnerability remediation, access governance, backup validation, and disaster recovery exercises.
• Review designs for scalability, security, resiliency, and compliance with enterprise standards.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve dependencies and shape platform roadmaps.
• Identify risks, tech debt, incidents, and process gaps; define remediation plans and track closures.

TCS is looking for a Cloud Data Engineer Sr.

(Candidate must be available to work from Guadalajara, Queretaro, Mexico City or Monterrey office 3 day per week)

Required Skills & Experience:

• Min. 6+ years of progressive experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, site reliability engineering, or enterprise production support.
• Advanced hands-on expertise across AWS and Microsoft Azure, including compute, storage, networking, identity, security, governance, monitoring, resilience, and cost optimization.
• Strong expertise with Kubernetes and Docker, including cluster operations, workload deployment, scaling, upgrades, configuration, security, performance tuning, and complex troubleshooting.
• Strong operational experience supporting Databricks, dbt, Apache Airflow, AutoSys, and enterprise data processing environments. Experience with LASR and Caspian is preferred.
• Advanced experience with Terraform and enterprise CI/CD platforms such as Harness, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent, including reusable modules and deployment controls.
• Strong scripting and automation capability using Python, Shell, Bash, or PowerShell to reduce manual effort and improve platform reliability.

Main responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership for Kubernetes and Docker environments, including architecture reviews, upgrades, capacity planning, workload reliability, performance optimization, and production troubleshooting.
• Operational support and platform enablement for Databricks, dbt, Apache Airflow, AutoSys, LASR, and Caspian, including integrations, scheduling dependencies, access, performance, and release readiness.
• Design and implement reusable automation, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, deployment standards, and self-service capabilities that improve speed, consistency, and control.
• Upgrade, patch, vulnerability remediation, access governance, backup validation, disaster recovery exercises, and production change implementation.
• Review solution designs and technical changes for scalability, security, resiliency, supportability, performance, and compliance with enterprise standards.
• Partner with application, data engineering, architecture, security, network, DevOps, and service management teams to resolve dependencies and shape platform roadmaps.
• Identify operational risks, technical debt, recurring incidents, and process gaps; define prioritized remediation plans and track them through closure.
