SEGULA Technologies is seeking a mid-level Design Release Engineer for Sealing & Closures in the Mexico City area, with hybrid/on-site work options. You will own end-to-end design, development, and release of sealing systems and closures components for automotive programs, collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of hands-on experience in automotive sealing, CAD (CATIA V5/V6 or NX), and PLM tools, with strong GD&T and DVP&R knowledge and fluency

Qualifications

• 3+ years in automotive sealing systems and related components.
• Residency in or relocation to Mexico City, Toluca, or Estado de México.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Automotive/Mechatronics or related field.
• Proficient CAD (CATIA V5/V6 or NX) and PLM tools (Teamcenter or Windchill).
• Strong GD&T, DFMEA, DVP&R knowledge.

Responsabilités

• Lead the design, development, and release of sealing systems from concept to production launch.
• Manage 3D CAD, 2D drafting, GD&T, and PLM documentation.
• Collaborate with BIW, styling, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure flawless assembly and integration.
• Interface with Tier-1 suppliers on specifications, tooling feasibility, reviews, prototypes, and DVP&R testing.
• Perform root-cause analysis on NVH, water ingress, and wind noise during validation.
• Support cost-reduction and weight-optimization initiatives.

Design Release Engineer Sealing & Closures (Mid-Level)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mid-Level Sealing & Closures Design Release Engineer (DRE) to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, integration, and release of automotive sealing systems and closures components. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing plants to deliver high-quality automotive solutions that meet performance, weight, cost, and timing targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering design, development, and release of sealing systems, primary/secondary weatherstrips, door closures, and sheet metal interfaces from concept through production launch.
• Manage component packaging, 3D CAD modeling, 2D drafting, GD&T, and engineering documentation within product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
• Collaborate with styling, Body-in-White (BIW), interior trim, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure flawless vehicle assembly and seamless component integration.
• Interface with tier-1 suppliers on component specifications, tooling feasibility, design reviews, prototype builds, and design verification plan and report (DVP&R) testing.
• Perform root-cause analysis on engineering issues, water ingress, noise/vibration/harshness (NVH), and wind noise concerns during validation and build phases.
• Support cost-reduction, weight-optimization, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on engineering experience in automotive sealing systems, rubber extrusions, molding, and sheet metal closure components.
• Residence in or willingness to relocate to Mexico City, Toluca, or adjacent regions within Estado de México.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience in CAD software (CATIA V5/V6 or NX) and lifecycle management tools (Teamcenter or Windchill).
• Strong knowledge of elastomeric materials (EPDM, TPE), rubber-to-metal bonding, sheet metal stamping, and manufacturing process constraints.
• Proficiency in applying GD&T principles, stack‑up analysis, DFMEA, and DVP&R methodologies.
• Professional working proficiency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal).

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Materials Science, or related engineering discipline.
• Relevant industry certifications in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Project Management (PMP).
• Experience working directly with OEMs or Tier‑1 automotive suppliers in Mexico.
• Familiarity with assembly plant support, launch execution, and field performance resolution.
