Vestal Corporation is seeking a Civil Engineer to perform civil site design, roadway, and water/sewer projects. Responsibilities include site layout, flood studies, and coordinating with various disciplines to ensure project success.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, with a minimum of 3 years of experience and proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

• Functional knowledge of ASCE, AWWA, and International Codes is required.

Overview

The Civil Engineer will perform civil site design, roadway, commercial design, and water and sewer.

Job Duties

• Perform site layout and design, grading, stormwater drainage, sanitary sewer design, and erosion control design.
• Conduct flood studies.
• Develop pavement and roadway design for industrial and commercial projects.
• Coordinate with various disciplines for seamless project execution.
• Interface directly with clients and external partners.
• Maintain civil design/engineering standards and procedures.
• Comply with company’s quality control and project management procedures.
• Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.
• Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a Vestal Corporation office.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and able to operate a computer and other office equipment.
• Must be able to move about the office to access office equipment and other office buildings within the Vestal office complex.
• This position frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information.

Knowledge / Skill / Ability / Education / Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience is required.
• Registered P.E is preferred.
• Functional knowledge of ASCE, AWWA, and International Codes is required.
• Proficient user of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
• Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.
