Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. seeks a Chief Python Engineer to design and build an AI-powered financial assistant platform. You will lead a small, autonomous team to shape architecture, quality, and delivery for production-grade Python services and FastAPI-based APIs.

You will drive security, reliability, observability, and mentoring while collaborating with business users to validate solutions through rapid iteration in a dynamic, low-formality environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Python experience delivering production systems.
• Senior leadership experience driving technical direction and mentoring engineers.
• Strong system design skills for scalable, secure services.
• Advanced AI evaluation and quality engineering skills including automated evals and regression testing.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1).

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end architectures for an AI-powered financial assistant platform.
• Build production-grade Python services and APIs using FastAPI.
• Define evaluation strategies and test datasets to measure model quality.
• Implement monitoring and failure analysis to detect and triage AI issues in production.
• Establish security controls for sensitive data and prompt-injection risks.
• Coordinate delivery in a low-formality environment with minimal process overhead.

We are looking for a Chief Python Engineer to build a next-generation AI-powered financial assistant platform and need a highly autonomous senior engineer to shape architecture, quality, and delivery.
