FLF is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to lead daily operations and scale the firm’s performance across 19+ departments in a fast-growing personal injury law environment. You will partner with the CEO to translate strategy into actionable plans, drive process optimization, and build high-performing teams while maintaining client outcomes.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • MBA or executive education preferred.
  • 7+ years of executive leadership as COO, Director of Operations, or senior operational leader in a Personal Injury Law Firm.
  • Experience managing 200+ employees across multi-department organizations.
  • Strong KPI development, process improvement, workflow automation, and operational reporting.
  • Experience with operational budgets, workforce planning, and resource allocation.

Responsabilidades

  • Provide executive leadership for day-to-day operations across 19+ departments.
  • Ensure operational alignment across Intake, Case Management, Pre-Litigation, Litigation, Medical Records, Negotiations, Investigations, and Client Experience.
  • Establish accountability frameworks for consistency, efficiency, and performance.
  • Partner with the CEO to execute strategic initiatives for growth.
  • Lead firm-wide process mapping and SOP development.
  • Design scalable systems to improve cross-department collaboration.
  • Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Recruit, coach, and mentor department leaders; develop KPIs.
  • Develop onboarding, leadership development, and succession plans.
  • Build high-performing teams delivering operational excellence and client service.
  • Oversee budgeting, staffing, and financial performance.
  • Negotiate with medical providers and manage vendor costs.
  • Develop executive dashboards and KPI reporting; present to leadership.

We are seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead the firm's day-to-day operations, optimize cross-functional performance, and execute the strategic vision established by executive leadership.

As our Chief Operating Officer, you will serve as the firm's second-in-command and strategic operational leader, partnering directly with the CEO to oversee every aspect of daily operations.

You will lead a multi-department organization of more than 200 professionals, ensuring every department operates efficiently, meets performance objectives, and delivers exceptional client experiences.

Your work will directly influence operational efficiency, financial performance, employee engagement, client satisfaction, and the firm's ability to scale sustainably while maintaining operational excellence.

What You'll Do
Executive Operations Leadership
  • Provide executive leadership for the firm's day-to-day operations across more than 19 departments.
  • Ensure operational alignment between Intake, Case Management, Pre-Litigation, Litigation, Medical Records, Negotiations, Investigations, Client Experience, and other business functions.
  • Establish accountability frameworks that drive operational consistency, efficiency, and measurable performance.
  • Partner directly with the CEO to execute strategic initiatives that support sustainable organizational growth.
Process Optimization & Systems Management
  • Lead firm-wide process mapping, workflow optimization, and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development.
  • Design scalable operational systems that improve collaboration across departments.
  • Optimize technology platforms including Filevine, Lead Docket, RingCentral, CallRail, Google Workspace, and other operational tools.
  • Identify automation opportunities that improve efficiency, reduce manual work, and enhance service delivery.
Leadership, Talent Development & Organizational Performance
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and mentor department leaders while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Establish performance management systems based on measurable KPIs and organizational objectives.
  • Develop structured onboarding, leadership development, cross-training, and succession planning programs.
  • Build high-performing teams that consistently deliver operational excellence and exceptional client service.
Financial Operations & Vendor Management
  • Oversee operational budgeting, resource allocation, staffing strategies, and financial performance.
  • Lead medical provider negotiations, lien reductions, and cost-control initiatives that improve profitability while protecting client outcomes.
  • Manage strategic vendor relationships and evaluate vendor performance through measurable service metrics.
  • Ensure operational decisions align with both financial objectives and long-term organizational strategy.
Business Intelligence & Performance Reporting
  • Develop executive dashboards and operational reporting using Looker Studio and other business intelligence platforms.
  • Monitor departmental KPIs and operational metrics to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Present executive scorecards and performance updates to leadership on a regular basis.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations that support executive decision-making and organizational planning.
Cross-Functional Strategic Leadership
  • Foster collaboration between legal, operations, finance, marketing, human resources, and executive leadership.
  • Lead firm-wide operational initiatives that improve scalability, communication, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO on operational strategy, business growth, and organizational development.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, innovation, and operational excellence throughout the organization.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent executive education preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of executive leadership experience as a Chief Operating Officer, Director of Operations, or senior operational leader within a Personal Injury Law Firm.
  • Extensive knowledge of Intake, Case Management, Pre-Litigation, Litigation, Medical Records, Investigations, Negotiations, and law firm operations.
  • Proven experience managing large, multi-department organizations with 200+ employees.
  • Demonstrated success developing KPIs, process improvement initiatives, workflow automation, and operational reporting systems.
  • Experience overseeing operational budgets, workforce planning, financial performance, and resource allocation.
  • Strong leadership, organizational development, coaching, and executive communication skills.
  • Professional proficiency in English with exceptional written, verbal, and presentation abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA, Master's degree, or other advanced executive education.
  • Extensive experience with Filevine, Lead Docket, RingCentral, CallRail, Google Workspace, Asana, Zapier, and Looker Studio.
  • Experience with BambooHR, TestGorilla, TalentLMS, or other HR technology platforms.
  • Demonstrated expertise in medical provider negotiations, lien reductions, and operational cost optimization.
  • Experience leading high-growth organizations through rapid operational scaling.
  • Professional certifications in Project Management, Lean Six Sigma, Operations Management, or Executive Leadership.
