Job summary

EPAM Systems seeks a Chief AI Factory Engineer to lead and optimize multi-agent AI workflows, ensuring shipped, accurate, and maintainable code while upholding quality standards. You will own architectural decisions, define acceptance criteria, and oversee planner, implementer, reviewer, and tester sub-agents.

You will embed verification, write tests and linters into every loop, gauge success through production metrics, and provide reports on specs, tests, and throughput across global projects.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience coordinating multi-agent workflows (planner, implementer, reviewer, tester).
• Proficiency in creating verification pipelines with tests and linters.
• Experience reviewing code diffs and fixing agent drift.
• Knowledge of software architecture, design tradeoffs, and correctness.
• Ability to set acceptance criteria and quality gates for automated/AI-assisted development.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Break down work into specs and tasks executable by agents.
• Oversee agent output by reading diffs and intervening when needed.
• Embed verification into every loop with tests, linters, and type checks.
• Establish acceptance criteria to validate agent-generated work before integration.
• Own architectural decisions, design tradeoffs, and correctness while delegating code generation to agents.
• Complete tasks manually when necessary to determine when an agent's output is incorrect.
• Refine the lightweight factory setup based on daily usage.
• Gauge success through shipped repositories, defects, throughput, and code quality.
• Provide reports on specs, tests, review outcomes, and production metrics.
