How You'll Help us Connect The World

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Category Manager to own a diverse portfolio of spend categories supporting the development and manufacturing of complex electronic assemblies, mechanical enclosures, and software-based solutions for the telecommunications industry. These categories will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO)
  • Service and Support Agreements
  • Software Development and Licensing
  • Packaging
  • Manufacturing Consumables
  • Printed materials

This role carries global responsibility for developing and executing sourcing and supply chain strategies that support site, regional, and enterprise-wide requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and Execute Strategic Category Plans. Lead the creation and implementation of category strategies that align with enterprise procurement goals and stakeholder needs, ensuring global and regional consistency and adaptability.
  • Optimize Supplier Base and Selection Processes. Manage the Approved Vendor List and drive supplier selection, qualification, and onboarding, including audits and performance assessments to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Negotiate and Manage Supplier Contracts. Own the end-to-end contract lifecycle, from negotiation to compliance, ensuring favorable terms, risk mitigation, and adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Lead Supplier Engagement for Key Initiatives. Serve as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal teams for strategic projects, ensuring early supplier involvement and alignment with technical, functional, and commercial requirements.
  • Drive Capital Procurement Strategy. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to lead sourcing and commercial negotiations for capital equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness and strategic alignment.
  • Conduct Market and Cost Analysis. Analyze supplier bids, commodity markets, and industry trends to ensure competitive pricing, anticipate supply challenges, and inform sourcing decisions.
  • Mitigate Supply Chain Risks. Identify potential risks across the supply base and implement proactive strategies to ensure continuity, resilience, and responsiveness to global disruptions.
  • Manage Supplier Performance and Improvement Plans. Lead structured performance reviews, scorecard development, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier capabilities and value delivery.
  • Champion Procurement Process Excellence. Drive improvements in procurement systems, workflows, and financial terms (e.g., payment conditions), contributing to cash flow optimization and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure Compliance with EHS, Corporate Policy, and Local Regulations. Uphold Environmental Health and Safety standards, corporate responsibility policies, and local laws and regulations, ensuring all procurement activities meet internal and external compliance requirements.

Skills & Qualifications

This role requires a strong mix of functional expertise, problem-solving ability, and collaboration skills. Candidates should bring proven experience, and the interpersonal strengths needed to work effectively across teams and with external partners.

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is required
  • Business proficiency in both Spanish and English is mandatory for this role
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or a relevant discipline
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and demonstrate strong project management skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally
  • Demonstrated competencies in sourcing, supplier selection, and contract negotiation
  • Must be independently driven and capable of managing responsibilities with minimal oversight
