Daimler Trucks AG Mexico Engineering Center seeks a skilled software engineer to advance wiring engineering through AI, automation, and digital tools. You will build and maintain applications, support engineers, and ensure compliance with DTNA standards across global teams.

The role requires a strong background in MVC, full-stack web tech, .NET, and data analytics, with secure software practices and multilingual collaboration. Location is in Mexico with opportunities for cross-functional work.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field required.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and debugging applications in SQL, Python, and C#.
• Full-stack development using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap; MVC framework; GitHub; .NET.
• Power BI, data analytics, AI-enabled engineering solutions, and SDLC/cybersecurity awareness.

Objective of the position: As a member of the Low Voltage Wiring Design Engineering Department at Daimler Trucks Mexico Engineering Center (DTMEC), provide innovative engineering solutions to Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) in the Cab Wiring area. Leverage artificial intelligence, software development, automation, and digital technologies to enhance wiring engineering processes, optimize product development activities, reduce manual effort, and enable data-driven, efficient, and high-quality engineering decisions, while ensuring compliance with DTNA standards and strategic objectives aligned with the Global Wiring Team.

Indispensable Requirements (Candidates who do not meet these requirements may be discarded):

• Experience developing, maintaining, and debugging applications using SQL, Python, and C#.
• Experience developing applications using the Model-View-Controller (MVC) framework.
• Full-stack application development using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and modern web technologies.
• Git-based source control management (GitHub) and .NET application development.
• Power BI, workflow automation, data analytics, and AI-enabled engineering solutions.
• Secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) principles, cybersecurity awareness, and data.
• English level: B1 Spanish level: C2 Soft Skills: Analysis and problem solving Effective communication Planning and organization Strategic thinking Decision making Project management Academic Knowledge: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field required.
• Degree in Software Developer or Mechatronics or a related degree

Main Functions:

• Responsibility: Develop, maintain, and enhance software tools, automation solutions, and digital applications that support Wiring Engineering activities. Provides technical support to engineering teams, resolves application issues and software defects, automates manual processes, and assists with the implementation of new digital capabilities. Receive task assignments and technical guidance from senior-level engineers and serve as the DTMEC point of contact for AI Steering Committee initiatives.
• Design: According to the assigned area of responsibility, create and manage wiring models, drawings, bills of material, design charts, and other engineering data of medium complexity using DTNA product structure management and documentation release processes and platforms (NX, CHS, IMACS, IMACS+, ERS+, PLATON). Ensure all software tools, automation solutions, and digital applications comply with DTNA software development, cybersecurity, and data governance standards.
• Validation: Define and coordinate validation activities for software applications, automation tools, and digital solutions supporting Wiring. Verify that new developments, enhancements, and defect resolutions meet functional, quality, cybersecurity, and performance requirements before deployment. Ensure compliance with DTNA software development standards, cybersecurity requirements, and data protection policies. Protect company information, intellectual property, and confidential engineering and project data.
• Deliverables: Deliver assigned software development, automation, and engineering support projects that meet established scope, quality, cost, and schedule requirements, while ensuring compliance with DTNA software development standards, cybersecurity requirements, and customer expectations.
• Issue Resolution: Provide timely containment and permanent corrective solutions to engineering issues while promoting an agile and customer-focused culture across the Global Wiring Organization.
• KPIs: Assure engineering activities support targets for all relevant DTNA Engineering Key Performance Indicators. Promptly address issues in areas of responsibility to contribute to the Operational Excellence in the DTMEC Cab Wiring Group.
• Continuous Improvement: Support the creation and implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives through automation, digitalization, and process mapping to enhance KPI performance, improve engineering efficiency, and exceed customer expectations.
• Communication: Maintain effective communication with global engineering teams through meetings, design reviews, collaboration platforms, and technical presentations to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
