Job summary

Shape Corp. Mexico is seeking a Sr. Buyer with deep experience in the automotive sector and familiarity with steel, stampings, metals, or complex direct materials. The role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier selection, and cost management to support SOP and NPI efforts.

You will drive supplier negotiations, manage PPV/VAVE objectives, and collaborate across Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Finance to sustain continuity and value creation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Purchasing/Procurement experience.
• Automotive industry background.
• Experience with steel, stampings, metals, or complex direct materials.
• Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Negotiation experience.
• APQP / PPAP / SOP knowledge.
• Advanced English.
• ERP/MRP experience, preferably Plex, SAP, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing activities and supplier selection through RFQs and comparative analysis.
• Manage supplier negotiations, cost analysis, benchmarking, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Develop and maintain a competitive supplier base focused on cost, quality, innovation, and delivery.

• Identify and mitigate supply risks while supporting business continuity.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Finance, and Program Management teams.
• Manage key purchasing objectives including PPV and VAVE.
